Margaret
suffered extreme fatigue, sleepiness, heart palpitations,
numbness in her limbs, headaches, shortness of breath
and pain down the sides of her neck. Her doctors considered
many different diagnoses, including multiple sclerosis,
lupus, tuberculosis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia
and the Epstein-Barr virus.
Margaret
had been an active woman with a busy social life who
was very involved in her church and community. But
as her condition worsened, she eventually became bedridden.
Left with plenty of time to read, she discovered The
Yeast Connection and began incorporating Dr. Crook's
suggestions.
"I thought his book had been written about me,"
Margaret recalls. Over the next several years she
began following a sugar-free diet, taking nutritional
supplements and avoiding several foods, additives,
and preservatives she discovered she was allergic
to. At last report, Margaret was back to her old self,
chairing two church committees, and sharing what she's
learned about yeast-related health problems.
